Eric Nuss received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and went on to earn his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Prior to his legal career, Eric worked for over ten years as a Senior Radar Systems Engineer, where he designed, developed, and optimized radar system software and hardware. With nearly 30 years of experience in the field of patent law, Eric has expertise in all areas of patent drafting and prosecution as well as validity, patentability, freedom to operate, infringement, and non-infringement opinions, strategic patent counseling, and litigation support. Eric is thus equipped to assist clients in making informed strategic decisions regarding intellectual property approaches and is skilled in both domestic and global patent portfolio management. Eric’s practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical arts, as his technological areas of expertise include telecommunications, wireless and optical communications, network systems, machine learning, semiconductors, integrated circuits, power converters, radar systems, medical devices, vehicle electronics, cryptography, secure processing, blockchain, business methods, and software applications. Eric is a member of the Maryland State Bar and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is not registered to practice in North Carolina.
