Patent Quality Rankings
News @ Myers Bigel
Myers Bigel is pleased to announce that our Electrical, Chemical, and Medical practices were each ranked in the Top Ten nationally in a patent quality survey conducted by Patent Ratings, LLC and published in IP Law & Business, March 2005. Patent Ratings, LLC uses a computer model that measures the strength and quality of patents with objective criteria, and scores them with what it calls an “intellectual property quotient” (IPQ). According to this model, Myers Bigel ranked 8th nationally among firms that prosecuted the best chemical patents in 2004, 4th nationally among firms that prosecuted the best medical patents in 2004, 6th nationally among firms that prosecuted the best electrical patents in 2004, and 9th nationally among firms that prosecuted the best computer/software patents in 2004. Myers Bigel received the third most mentions of any firm, ranking in the Top Ten for four out of the six categories of the survey. In the same quality survey, in 2003, our Biotechnology practice was ranked 4th nationally. This survey has not been repeated since 2004.
