MBSS Staff Member Candi Riggs Teaches Course at Meredith College

Candi L. Riggs, NCCP, is currently teaching a short course on Intellectual Property at Meredith College. The course covers the critical role legal assistants play in intellectual property practice, ethics, and professionalism. Students become familiar with patent terminology, the steps involved in preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications, and the practical application of the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s electronic filing system. The students will also have the opportunity to visit Myers Bigel.Special MBSS speakers include Rosa Lee Brinson, NCCP, discussing Trademarks; Elizabeth A. Stanek, on Patent Law; and Sarah Duffy, Paralegal, on International Filings/Docketing.
