Myers Bigel’s Phyllis Hines Named Distinguished Paralegal

Myers Bigel congratulates Phyllis Hines, who has received the 2011 Distinguished Paralegal Award from the Paralegal Division of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA). Phyllis is the third recipient of the award, which was presented on May 12, 2011.Phyllis has served as chair of the Paralegal Division, and is a member of the NCBA’s CLE Committee and Intellectual Property Section, chair of the Paralegal Division Nominations Committee, a program planner for the annual Intellectual Property Institute for Paralegals and co-founder of the Research Triangle Paralegal Association. She is a also member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, the National Notary Association, and serves as a notary for the State of North Carolina. She has obtained the designation of Certified Paralegal (CP) from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and designation of North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) through the North Carolina State Bar. She is also highly involved with a number of charitable and community organizations, including as InterAct (a domestic violence organization), Habitat for Humanity, N.C. Food Bank, Wills for Heroes, student paralegal programs and mentoring, Guardian Ad Litem Christmas for Children, and the NCBA Young Lawyers Division Christmas Clothing Drive.
